Bear Creek is such a great place to learn! We’ve got wonderful teachers who do many activities to engage their students. Take a look at some of the wonderful things that happened this week at Bear Creek….
1. Mr. Wong’s Grade 2 class is completing a snail unit. What fun! Each student has a large plastic pop bottle which they have made into individual terrariums to hold their snails. On Friday, the Grade 2 students had the opportunity to introduce their snails to their Big Buddies. They had a great time with the snails – as you can see in the photos below.
2. Division 3 is having fun in Art this term! It’s been a messy one. They are now doing paper mache. You’ll have to keep looking back at this site to see what these paper macheed balloons turn into!
3. Innovation Grant Submitted! The district gave all the Elementary schools the opportunity to apply for an Innovation Grant to purchase additional techology to enhance student learning and engagement. We submitted our proposal on Friday. Now, we just have to wait until the beginning of May to see if we are one of the fortunate schools to get the grant. Keep your fingers crossed!
4. Earth Day – Kindergarten Inspiration
The Kindergarten students in Mrs. Tolksdorf and Mrs. Hoskins class read a story about Earth Day and another story with some beautiful art. They used the inspiration from each of these stories to create these beautiful images. Didn’t they do a great job? What beautiful artwork!
5. Fun NIght – May 11!
Everything is getting prepared for our Fun Night, which will be held on Friday, May 11! Mark your calendars! We hope to see you all there!
