Things to Talk About – September 17-21

We’ve had a great week!

1. Our students are busy!  As you walk through the halls and visit our classrooms, you’ll be struck by the wonderful pieces our students have really taken pride in completing. Many of the items that are in our halls right now are All About Me, items. The beginning of the year is such an important time to get to know our students and for our students to get to know us.

Here are some examples of what you’ll see around our schools:

2. The Grade 6 students showed their bravery and courage when they had their immunizations this week!  We’re very proud of each of them!

3.  Our PAC is already hard at work. They held an executive meeting on Friday and look forward to the first General PAC meeting on Thursday, September 27 – from 1:30 – 2:30.  They would love to have you come, if you are able!  Our PAC is always interested in hearing your thoughts, opinions, and getting additional help!  Many hands make light work.  Come join a wonderful group! You can even check out their Bear Creek PAC Facebook Page – ask to become a member!

4.  Student Leadership Applications went out last week and came in late in the week. We have over 50 Grade 6 and 7 students who are interested in becoming our Student Leaders this year!  We are so proud of our students. Choosing from these applications is going to prove to be quite difficult, for sure! We hope to make final determinations early in the week.

5. We learn something each and every day!  As part of our Making Learning Visible goal for this year, we are thinking of different ways to showcase our leanring. Come hear what some of our students have learned this week.  Mr. Costantino (one of our amazing Educational Assistants) also told us one of the things he learned this week!
