On Thursday, February 26 we welcomed our Aboriginal families to celebrate community and literacy. We shared our school and learning with grandmas, moms, dads, aunts, great grandmas, our friends from Frank Hurt Secondary, other members of our community, and our children. We enjoyed bannock and snacks while listening to stories. After nibbling on snacks, we solved artistic puzzles, made beaded necklaces, and created clay sculptures. Bannock and Books was a great success again this year. We would like to thank Len Pierre, our Strong Start team, Surrey School District staff, our Bear Creek staff, and our wonderful families for creating this wonderful event.
